“The privilege of a lifetime is to become who you truly are.” C.G.Jung
“Honesty and transparency make you vulnerable. Be honest and transparent anyway.”
“To find yourself, think for yourself.” Socrates.
“Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.” Dr Seuss.
Old leaders lead with a power they got from an authoritative position that was derived from their title. You went to the General Manager’s office and you felt like you were going to meet a god, regardless if he had any talent, abilities or know-how. He was the General Manager you are honoured to be in his presence, so do your business quickly and get out, cause he is a busy man!
Schools, companies, professionals like doctors, lawyers etc. all had this mindset.
Now we are entering into a radically new time in history. Business and people have to change. Now to make an impact and contribution comes from who you are as a person rather than the authority you get from your badge or title.
Three extremely important qualities we need to have, protect and display are
1. trustworthiness, 2. to be a person others can respect, and 3. to be a person that keeps his word. Your word should be the most precious thing you can give. This new era we are entering is so amazing and it is essential to be authentic.
What does it mean to be authentic? Well, it is about being comfortable and safe in your own skin, learning to trust yourself and having the confidence to work under your values, express your original opinions, and to be the genuine best you can be. You need to have something you stand for and have the courage to express yourself in every situation rather than only when it is safe. It’s about being real, consistent and congruent so that who you are on the inside is reflected by the way you perform on the outside. To be authentic and the real you requires that you step into your potential and work at the brilliance level. This is who you truly are. In all of history, there has never been another you. There will never be a better you! Think about that and let that soak into your unconscious mind. Oscar Wild said “Be yourself. Everyone else is taken.”
Being authentic is one of the deepest things you can exemplify. Become a person who is focused on positively influencing everyone around you. Be a person that is comfortable being you and give everything of yourself fully, hold nothing back. Because when you do the universe will fill you up with more things to give, endlessly.
When you start demonstrating your authenticity you will shine like a star. People will be drawn to you like moths to a flame. They will sense your realness, your passion for greatness will touch the greatness in the people you meet and this will be a base on which you can all prosper. Allowing yourself to be open, genuine and brilliant around other people, gives them permission to be open, genuine and brilliant around the people they come into contact with and this positive influence expands out eventually to all people. Isn’t that fantastic? Being with you makes people feel safe. Trust develops and wonderful things really will start to happen. Just do it! until next time I wish you peace, love and success.
