There are four things successful people do, that makes they successful, consistent high achievers. What are they? 1. They are outcome-focused. 2. They decide what they want. 3. They are motivated. 4. They take action to get the thing they are focused on!
Could your life be improved by making outcome plans?
Have you achieved what you want in your professional life?
Do you have the friends and family relationships you want?
Do you love what you do every day?
Can you get all the things done in a day, that has to be attended to?
Have you achieved the balance between your personal life and your work life?
Are you proud, of the person you are now?
If the answers are “no” to these questions, then you need more focus and to set clear outcomes to get want you want.
How to start?
Step one is to think like a child and wish for something! Step two is to take that wish and make it into an outcome. By outcome I mean, make a clear statement and represent it to your mind, of the thing you want to be, do or have!
This will turn your mind away from the things that you don’t want, like or have; From the things that you are dissatisfied with, and focus you on the what you want as your goal.
Your outcome should be used as your destination. Start with the destination in your mind and plot a course from where you are now to that spot.
Step three, ask yourself “What steps do I need to get to what I want?”
Thinking about the obstacles that will prevent you from succeeding is known as “ problem thinking
” This will keep you stuck with the problems. Outcome based thinking
, on the other hand, will move you towards your goal.
To make your goal really attractive to you it will help you to consider the following points.
What will it be like when you achieve your goal? You need to create a sharp, focused image in your mind. How will you look, feel, and act? See people coming to you praising you and congratulating you on your success. This will inspire you to take action to get what you want, and to deal with whatever resistance you may face.
State your goal in positive language.
Be very specific about when and where you want your goal.
Your goal should be a positive, good thing for you and your life in the whole picture.
I hope you find these words helpful. Until next time I wish you peace, love and success.
