Every day you wake up you have two fundamental choices. Today am I going to be a victim or am I going to be a leader? Victimhood or Leadership?
How do victims think and talk? Well, they really love excuses. Example;
“I’m not smart enough to lead others when faced with challenging circumstances.”
“That is not my responsibility! I’m not a manager or an owner !”
“My health is not so great, so I can’t deal with the pressure of leading others”
“I’m too young/old to lead others.”
“I don’t have time. I have enough to do”
“I tried to do my best to lead my co-workers but none of them listened to me. What’s the point of trying?”
Instead, as the book title says “Flip it!” Change your beliefs and see what a difference you CAN make! There is a code to help you that I would like to share with you. You will produce breathtaking results if you apply this to your daily life. The word IMAGE distills the how. Let us break it down for you. The letter I in IMAGE stands for Innovation. M. for Mastery, A for Authenticity, G for Guts, E for Ethics. In later blogs, I will expand further on this.
Too many people today have stopped using their imagination. We are losing the drive for creativity and to be different. We remake the clothes fashion from 10, 20. 30 and 40 years ago. The movies nowadays are telling the same stories as before, only with younger actors. Listen to the number of outdated songs you hear playing on the radio, in malls, and in stores. Where is the originality? People are lazy and scared to be different, so they repackage some formula that was successful a couple of decades ago, hoping to play it safe. Innovation always trumps repeating what might have worked in the past.
All clients/customers want fresh value and novel forms of excellence, not a repackaging of old items. Devote yourself to daily and relentless progress, flex your mind and elevate your abilities by constantly asking yourself “What can I improve today?” Make a commitment to yourself to make everything you touch better than you found it. Constantly reinvent yourself as you walk this journey. That is the essence of innovation.
If you are not chasing passionate innovation and excellence, mediocrity is already well on its way to get you. Without innovation, life is death. Keep challenging to see things as you would in an ideal world, and become a visionary that breathes, innovation into everything.
Dream big but start small and start now exactly where you are at. Small steps over time generate huge results. Just by performing little advancements constantly success will come automatically.
Innovation or stagnation which do you prefer? Choose innovation and you will do really well in these crazy times that we are in now. Take calculated risks instead of playing is safe and just existing and you will reap a very rich outcome. Be the best you today. Let the world see how wonderful, smart and innovative you are.
Until next time I wish you peace, love and success.
