Most of us have never really thought, contemplated, or examined what are beliefs are. What are your beliefs about money? Success? Abundance? Lets look at a common belief "Money is the cause of all evil!" Ask yourself is this belief moving me towards what I want, or away from it? Is this belief resourceful of not? If you would like to make £50,000 a year, yet you play the belief "Money is the cause of all evil!" subconsciously, this will prevent you from ever making £50,000 a year.
The key to success is learning how to ask the right question. Instead of asking "Why can't I ...." a better question is "How can I...?" or an even better question is "What do I have to do to .....? If you relax the answer will come when you are least expecting it. It could come in the shower, when you are driving. The answer will pop up.
It is a really good idea to sit down with a pen and notebook and ask yourself what do you believe about things. Make a list of things you would like to examine, for example "work" Why do you work? Are you motivated to go to work everyday? Why do you do the job you do? Does your job make you happy? If not what can you do to improve it? The more clear we are about what we believe the more we have control over what happens in our life. Most people in the world have their minds running on auto-pilot. This results in us having very little, or no control over what happens to us.
By taking our minds off auto-pilot we move into having control.
When you have looked at what you believe about things, the next step is to ask yourself is this a positive or negative belief? If it is negative, taking you away from what you want, then eliminate it! A good way to do this is to write the belief down, take the paper you wrote on, crush it into a ball, and throw it into the trash can. That is it you let the negative belief go. After that you simply choose a more positive belief and run it over in your head a few times, like a song on radio that gets stuck in your head.
Taking the time to eliminate and replace your negative beliefs is the most productive use of your time. Once you let them go they are gone. The more you focus on what you want and taking the action required to get it, you will be amazed at how things start to improve and you will begin the live the life of your dreams. Until next time I wish you peace, love and success. Martin Acton sensei
